Harry Kewell insists that the side's Emirates FA Cup First Round tie away to Wigan Athletic is one which the team and the club can relish.
On Monday evening the draw for the First Round of the historic competition pitted the Reds away to the Latics at the DW Stadium, and the Head Coach was adamant that the tie was one that the team can look forward to in a few weeks' time.
"We probably couldn't have got a more difficult draw but it's a great opportunity for us," he said.
"They're obviously flying high at the top end of the league above and so we're under no illusions that it will be a difficult game.
"But I've always been a believer that when you enter a competition you want to play the best sides and that's exactly what we've been given the chance to do."
"We can go there and enjoy the day," he continued.
"The next few weeks are ones where we have some tough matches.
"It's big for not only myself and the players - but for the club as a whole as well."
