"It was great for the fans that travelled"

Harry Kewell delighted for fans that made Morecambe trip

10 October 2017

Harry Kewell was delighted for the fans that made the long journey to Morecambe to see his side record a 1-0 victory at the Globe Arena.

The Australian paid tribute to the 64 supporters who made the trip to the north-west, and reserved praise for their efforts and the noise they made throughout the game.

"I'm delighted for those that made the long journey - they were great this afternoon and it's great that they're going home happy," he told iFollow Crawley.

"It wasn't the prettiest game but sometimes you have to dig deep and find a way to win and I feel like we did that today.

"If you put in a good delivery like Billy (Clifford) did in the right area then you never know what can happen and we got rewarded today."

The Head Coach made some changes to the starting eleven at the weekend following the midweek game with Portsmouth and he was satisfied with how the new faces in the team fared.

"I felt people that came into the side today did really well," he continued.

"Joe (McNerney) came into the side and he was big and strong.

"I gave people a chance after Tuesday and it was a big ask to get them to do another 90 minutes for people like Moussa Sanoh but they did really well and they've impressed me.

"I've always said I'll give people a chance if they're paitent and the boys have kept working hard and that's what they've found.
