"That wasn't good enough and we were too simple to play against"

Harry Kewell on Chesterfield defeat

17 October 2017

Harry Kewell admitted that the side's performance in Tuesday evening's 2-0 defeat to Chesterfield was simply not good enough.

Two second half goals condemned the Reds to another home defeat and the Australian was honest in his assessment of the loss.

"I'm really hurt by that performance," he told iFollow Crawley.

"We didn't do anywhere near enough to get something from the game and Chesterfield were definitely the better side tonight.

"We were too simple to play against and didn't create enough chances."

The Reds have another home game against high-flying opposition at the weekend at the Checkatrade Stadium and the Head Coach emphasised the need for a reaction for the visit of the Hatters.

"The players need to take responsibilty," he continued.

"I need to have a good long think ahead of the game against Luton at the weekend.

"There's no better game to play because they're the high-flying team - we need to put a good performance together after this evening."
