Harry Kewell previews Tuesday evening's game at home to Newport County

25 September 2017

Harry Kewell wants his side to take the momentum from Saturday's win over Barnet into Tuesday evening's game against Newport County AFC at the Checkatrade Stadium (7-45pm).

The Reds ran out 2-1 winners at the Hive at the weekend and the Australian revealed he's looking for more of the same against another tough opponent.

"We were excellent on Saturday but we need to show that again on Tuesday with the quick turnaround," he told iFollow Crawley.

"They'll (Newport) be a tough side, with a very physical way of playing - but we can do both sides of the game and aren't afraid to do that either.

"They're very well organised and have started the season well, but we're always confident in our own game."

The game against the Exiles is the second in seven days for Kewell's men and the first of two home matches in five days. He pointed to momentum as being crucial in such busy times of the season.

"If you ask any manager they'd probably tell you they prefer to have Saturday-Saturday with fixtures as opposed to a Tuesday too," he continued.

"But we know the games come thick and fast in this league and so it's all about hard work and keeping good practices from game to game.

"Everyone here is working hard behind the scenes to make sure the players here are prepared properly."
