"We responded well and stuck together"

Ibrahim Meite on team spirit and first senior goal

13 September 2017

Ibrahim Meite was delighted to score his first professional goal against Stevenage on Tuesday night, but is hungry for more.

The 21-year old was a thorn in the side of the Boro defence on Tuesday evening, and levelled the score shortly after the break with a fantastic driven strike.

Speaking to iFollow Crawley, Meite told us he's looking to push on after opening his account.

"Yeah it's my first professional goal, it was a very good moment for me, so I am buzzing with that.

"But I should have got more to be honest, so I'll carry on working hard in training and hopefully in the next match I can get more goals."

On the night, Meite and the rest of the team found themselves 1-0 down at half-time despite a solid display, but the forward feels the side did well to get back into the game.

"We were down at half time, went into the changing room and had a strong team talk and everyone got their heads together and we stuck together as a team," he continued.

"We got back into the match, we should have won really but sometimes it goes like that and we've got lots of positives to take into Saturday's game now."
