Josh Yorwerth is delighted to have committed his future to the club, but is aware that he musn't rest on his laurels.

The Welsman put pen to paper on a new contract that keeps him at the Checkatrade Stadium until 2020, and is keen to push on now.

"I'm delighted to get the three years, it offers me a little bit of security as well but nothing really changes at the moment, I'm just going to keep working hard and doing my job on the pitch," Yorwerth told iFollow Crawley.

The centre half has been a regular starter this season, playing alongside Josh Lelan in the heart of defence, and the two have struck up quite the partnership on and off the pitch.

"I've got a place here living with Josh Lelan, which is good - it means I am nice and settled there.

"It's good to have a relationship off the pitch and taking it on the field as we've been doing quite well at the back, so it helps with us living together."

The 22-year signed permanently for the club last summer after an initial loan period, however has had to be patient for his chance up until this point.

"At the start of the season I wasn't really in favour, " he admitted.

"But then we had some injuries, so I got an opportunity and thankfully I've come in and done well, so hopefully now I can stay injury free and keep working hard."
