John Busby confirmed as referee for Notts County game

Officials for Saturday's match announced for game against the Magpies

14 September 2017

John Busby will officiate Saturday's game with Notts County (3pm).

The Oxfordshire-born official has taken charge of six games this season, issuing 19 yellow cards and two reds.

Busby has refereed three Crawley Town games so far in his career, all of which were last season and the first one being this exact fixture 13 months ago.

Unfortunately for Reds fans it didn't end so well, with Notts County coming out on top 3-1.

Enzio Boldewijn had given Crawley the lead just after half time, before James Collins' own goal pulled the visitors level, allowing Adam Campbell and Jon Stead to secure victory.

The game after that under Busby's jurisdiction also ended 3-1 to the away side, and was also at the Checktrade Stadium, this time against Cambridge United in November 2016.

Just as the Reds had against County, they took the lead, with the Collins scoring at the right end, before Cambridge came back with three goals of their own.

There is however one positive omen featuring Busby and the Reds, as his most recent game in charge at the Checkatrade Stadium ended 2-0 to Crawley against Yeovil Town in January this year; just as it did last month.

Josh Yorwerth and Collins netted to give their side the three points that day.

Busby will be assisted by Mr Dean Treleaven and Mr Adrian Waters, whilst Mr Samuel Ogles is the game's fourth official.
