"It's down to fine margins that aren't going our way but we won't hide"

Dannie Bulman conceded that key moments in matches don't seem to be falling for the Reds following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Carlisle United.

Two great openings in the first half were well saved by Jack Bontham and the midfielder admitted that at the current time the side musn't shy away from the need to improve.

"It's another disappointing afternoon, we've been here before and now we have to react again," he told iFollow Crawley.

"In this league things like the first goal in matches are so important.

"It's those sorts of fine margins that just don't seem to be going our way at the moment but we won't hide - we're there to be shot at and we have to turn it around."

Both Jimmy Smith and Jordan Roberts were well denied by Bontham in the first half and Dannie pointed to those incidents as being crucial in the game.

"We had chances in the first half to get a goal but didn't manage to take the lead," he continued.

"The ball didn't seem to stick and we've been working on keeping the ball all week and to get into decent area - the keeper made two fantastic saves in the first half.

"If those go in then it could have been very different - but that's the way things are going for us at the moment."
