MATCH PREVIEW | Yeovil Town

A closer look at tomorrow's clash with the Glovers at the Checkatrade Stadium

1 September 2017

The Reds look to secure back to back league wins for the first time since January, as we take on Yeovil Town at the Checkatrade Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

Harry Kewell's men will be on a high off the back of their first league victory of the season - a resounding 3-0 win at Swindon Town last weekend.

The Opposition

Yeovil Town haven't won away in the league since March, and since the beginning of last season have only won three times on the road.

We could be in for a high scoring game, with the Glovers netting 10 times and shipping 14 in just four games durng the current campaign.

Darren Way's men have had a mixed start to the season, winning two and losing two.

Their season didn't get off to the best of starts, as they were taken apart 8-2 by Luton Town on the opening day, with ex-Red James Collins netting a hat-trick.

They got back on track the following week at home to Accrington, winning 3-2 before slipping to defeat away from home again seven days later, as they lost 4-3 at Forest Green in a thrilling match.

They returned to winning ways the next weekend, triumphing in front of their home fans once more with a 2-0 win over Coventry City.

They also managed an away win during the week, in the Checkatrade Trophy, coming out 3-1 victors at Exeter City.

Last season was a close shave for the Glovers, as they finished 20th and just four points above the drop, so they'll be hoping for an improvement in the current campaign.

Previous Meetings

The Reds and the Glovers have come face to face nine times since 2012, and Saturday's visitors boast the better record, having won six of those and drawing one.

Crawley Town's first win over Yeovil Town came in September 2014, with Marvin Elliot scoring a quick-fire double shortly after the break at the Checkatrade Stadium.

The same result was then replicated in January this year with Josh Yorwerth's 28th minute opener being followed up 10 minutes later by Collins' penalty.

The Officials

Trevor Kettle will take charge of Saturday's game and you find more information on the officials here.
