GABY EXPECTING TOUGH TEST AT MOSS ROSE

15 December 2018

Head Coach Gabriele Cioffi expects a tough test against Macclesfield Town when Reds visit Moss Rose for the first time in over six years this afternoon.

The Sky Bet League 2 fixture is expected to be played in tough conditions with gale-force winds, heavy rain and even wet snow predicted.

It won’t be an occasion for the feint-hearted – and the Silkmen, whose form has picked up in recent weeks even though they remain bottom of the table – will be anxious to put on a show in the first home game under new boss Sol Campbell.

Gaby said: “For me, this is one of the hardest games of the season. We have watched Macclesfield many times, they have some real threats and of course their new manager is in place at home for the first time so there is also that factor.

“People will look at the league table and draw their own conclusions. But not me – for sure a very tough game but we are in good spirits and are ready to start a good run of results.

“We looked back to last week against Northampton and I felt overall the performance was good. But we know we can improve and I trust the lads to do this. At the moment we are not reaping what we sew but that will change. We have to stay together and believe in each other and ourselves as individuals.”

With Ollie Palmer starting a three-match ban there will be at least one change to the side. Mark Connolly (hamstring) and Filipe Morais (hand) are also sidelined.
