Defender wants to build on clean sheet last time out against Northampton today

Joe McNerney is delighted to be back in the starting line-up and the defender is keen that Reds build on a clean sheet last time out when they take on Northampton at the Broadfield Stadium in Sky Bet League 2 today (3pm).

Speaking in today’s match programme, Joe said: “I didn’t see eye to eye with the previous manager so now I have got to get ahead of the competition.

“We have got good centre-halves here and at the moment I’m getting a run in the side so I have to make sure the clean sheets keep coming.

“We haven’t kept enough clean sheets this season so the one against Crewe was welcome. For us it’s now about putting a run together and being more consistent. This is the time of year to do it with so many games in a short space of time.”

You can read Joe’s full interview in today’s edition on The Reds, which is on sale from the Ticket Office now and from our sellers around the stadium before kick-off.
