Preview: A look ahead to tonight's game against Luton Town

13 February 2018

Luton will be without striker Danny Hylton and midfielder Elliot Lee tonight because of injury. Defender Scott Cuthbert, Danny Potts and Johnny Mullins are back in contention along with midfielder Alan McCormack.

For Reds, Jordan Roberts has recovered from the hamstring problem which ruled him out for four games and he is back in training. Billy Clifford (ankle) and Kaby Djalo (calf) are sidelined but Harry Kewell has no fresh concerns after Saturday's 3-0 win over Grimsby.

Reds sit second in the current form table in League Two with five wins from their last six and seven in our last eight. Since the 4-0 defeat at Wycombe on November 18 Crawley have won 10 of their 14 League matches. Luton have won three - all by the same 1-0 scoreline - drawn one (at Stevenage on Saturday) and lost 2-0 to Chesterfield and 3-2 at home to Wycombe in their last six.

We have a good League record against the Hatters with three wins and a draw in our five games since the first meeting in 2015 when Mark Yates was in charge of Reds. Our only success at Kenilworth Road came in March 2016 when Matt Harrold's first-half goal earned us a 1-0 win. Of the 18 players in the squad that day only Lewis Young and Josh Yorwerth, who were both unused subs, remain at the club.

Karlan Ahearne-Grant is looking to score for the third successive game tonight. When he made his debut against Chesterfield he became the 150th player to represent the club in League and Cup since we joined the League in 2011.

Reds are on their best run of form since they won four games in a row in March 2012, beating Port Vale (3-2), Gillingham (1-0), Rotherham (3-0) and Bradford City (2-1). Earlier that season, Steve Evans' men won seven games in a row.
