Yorwerth: Let's keep the good run going

19 February 2018

Defender Josh Yorwerth believes Saturday's win over Lincoln City could prove to be one of the most important of the season.

Goals from Jimmy Smith, Josh Payne and Mark Connolly sealed a 3-1 win which lifted Reds onto 51 points and within two of the play-off places.

"It was important that we bounced back after Tuesday," said the defender.

"We were poor at Luton but we didn't become a bad team all of a sudden. We know what we are capable of and I thought we played well on Saturday, we passed the ball really well and showed that we have got that resilience now to keep playing when the opposition had a good spell in the game.

"They were on top for 10 minutes but once we got the penalty I thought we were very comfortable. It was a great win. If you can beat the sides around you then you're going to keep climbing the table."

The Welshman said he was delighted to resume his partnership with Connolly in the centre of defence.

"We seem to be doing well together," said Josh. "We compliment each other and long may it continue."

Reds return to action on Saturday at the New Lawn when we take on Forest Green Rovers.

"It's another big game," said Josh. "They brought quite a few players in during the January window and have had some decent results.

"But we're going well at the moment and the boys go into every game thinking we can get a result and Saturday will be no different."
