CLOCKING UP THE MILES: 2018/19

1 June 2018

How many miles will Reds fans travel next season? Find out here…

Fans following the Reds on the road to all 23 Sky Bet League Two away games next season will amass 8,286 miles on their travels, 702 miles more than last season.

Last season, fans who followed the side to all of our away league games racked up 7,584 miles, 380 less than the season before.

Our shortest journey in the division next season is to the Lamex Stadium, home of Stevenage (166 mile round trip). A trip to Colchester’s JobServe Community Stadium is another one of the shorter journeys (184 mile round trip), as well as a trip to the Stadium MK (190 mile round trip).

A trip to Carlisle United’s Brunton Park is again the longest trip of the season (696 mile round trip), with Morecambe’s Globe Arena the second longest (576 mile round trip). The promotion of Tranmere Rovers from the Vanarama National last season means that a trip to Prenton Park is another lengthy voyage for the Reds (514 mile round trip).

MK Dons’ relegation from League One means the teams will meet for the first time in League Two. The last time the two sides met was back in 2015, when goals from Benik Afobe and now England international Dele Alli were enough to beat the Reds 2-0.

The Reds will also travel to recently relegated Oldham Athletic, Northampton Town and Bury.

The League Two fixtures will be released on Thursday June 21 at 9am.
