Saturday's match against Wycombe is postponed

2 March 2018

Saturday's Sky Bet League 2 game against Wycombe Wanderers has been postponed.

EFL referee Graham Kane inspected the Checkatrade Stadium pitch this afternoon and with parts of it frozen he called the game off.

Operations Director Kelly Derham said: "The pitch has been under covers for a week but on Wednesday night, when the temperature at pitch side dropped to -6 degs, the frost got into areas of the surface. Graham carried out a through inspection and deemed the area in front of the West Stand unplayable.

"Obviously we are extremely disappointed because we worked hard all week to try and get the game on and we had a contingency plan in place to clear any snow from the stadium tomorrow morning, but the elements have beaten us. We also took into account the forecast for the next 8-12 hours which is for further snow and sub-zero temperatures, which gave us a smaller time frame for an improvement in conditions."

A new date for the fixture will be announced as soon as possible when tickets purchased for the game will be valid. If you cannot attend, please come to the Ticket Office for a refund or to exchange for another home fixture.
