Six things you should know ahead of Morecambe's visit on Saturday

9 March 2018

Reds will be looking to complete their fourth League 2 double of the season, having beaten Yeovil, Barnet and Accrington Stanley twice already. Billy Clifford's goal, direct from a corner, was the difference between the sides back on October 7 when a crowd of 1222 saw Crawley triumph 1-0 at the Globe Arena.

Morecambe are currently 18th in the form guide, based on the last six League games, with one win (4-2 at Wycombe) and three draws. Their two defeats were a 2-1 home loss to Mansfield and Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Accrington Stanley.

Morecambe have won three away games in the League so far this season. As well as that eye-catching success at Wycombe they won 2-0 at Chesterfield and 2-0 at Grimsby.

Boss Jim Bentley has been in charge at the Globe Arena since 2011 and has been in charge of the Shrimps for more than 350 games. The 41-year-old Liverpudlian previously played for the club for nine years having joined from Telford United in 2002.

With nine League goals, the evergreen Kevin Ellison (pictured) is Morecambe's top scorer this season. Ellison netted twice in the recent win over Wycombe and celebrated his 39th birthday earlier this week.

Reds will be looking for their first League win over Morecambe at home. Three previous encounters have ended in two 1-1 draws and a 3-1 defeat last season.
