Five things to know ahead of Friday's game at Cambridge

29 March 2018

Reds will be looking to avenge an early-season defeat to the U's on Good Friday. Jabo Ibhere got the only goal when the sides met at the Checkatrade in August.

Shaun Derry was in charge of the U's that day but he left the club in February and Joe Dunne, the former Colchester manager, was appointed interim head coach until the end of the season. He led Cambridge to victories in his first three games in charge to lift them into a safe mid-table position, but they haven't won any of their last five although all those games have been against teams above them in the table.

Last time out at the Abbey Stadium Dunne's men were beaten 3-1 by play-off chasing Swindon Town.

Uche Ikpeazu (pictured) is Cambridge's main goal threat. The 23-year-old joined the club in August 2016 from Blackpool and has scored 14 goals this season including three in the League.

Reds were beaten 2-0 at the Abbey Stadium last season in what was Dermot Drummy's final game in charge. Our previous trip to Cambridge in August 2016 ended in a 3-0 win for Reds, secured by two goals from Roarie Deacon and one by Gwion Edwards.
