Gatwick Diamond Business today held their monthly members meeting in the first-team changing room at the Checkatrade Stadium.
With over 100 business people attending, the event gave members a chance to see the stadium behind the scenes, including an opportunity to see the pitch renovation first-hand.
Commercial Manager Joe Comper insists that working with local businesses is vital for the club.
“For us, it’s a good opportunity to not only showcase but also communicate with local companies,” he said.
“Local businesses want to engage with us and we want to engage with them, not only from a commercial and sponsorship point of view, but also because it’s brilliant to know what local companies are in the area.”
Reds have been a member of the group for the past year, which aim to represent and support local businesses by networking and communicating. The Gatwick-based group has been established since 1957 and their clients range from healthcare to media production companies.
“It’s good to have people in the local area that have a positive opinion of the football club so we’re really happy to have held the event today,” said Joe.
“We rely on local businesses. People may laugh and say ‘you’ve only saved yourself a grand’ but that grand saved can go some distance in the long run.”
