CIOFFI: WE ARE GOING THERE TO WIN

1 October 2018

Gabriele Cioffi has given his thoughts ahead of Tuesday's match at Notts County.

On taking good form to Meadow Lane…

“Yeovil, Cheltenham, Morecambe…Chelsea… I think if we get things right like we have been then we are able to beat anyone. If we are able to get things right again, I think we will win. But it will not be easy. They won their last game and it was their first win. That will boost them.”

On facing former Reds boss Harry Kewell…

“I don’t know him, he does not know me. There is nothing to talk about. I will not be treating this game differently to any other. I was a fan of Harry as a player and I have a lot of respect for him as a coach. He did very well here as as manager and I am sure he will do at Notts County as well. I know the fans will see things differently but tomorrow is a normal game and one we will obviously look to win.”

On picking up his first away win as Head Coach….

“We were not good enough at Forest Green and I have admitted that. There is no reason to go to Notts County and worry about their league position. I think it is a false position and I know they will make it hard for us, but I believe we can do enough to pick up a win.”

On young midfielder Ashley Nathaniel-George…

“I put him on the bench for a reason and that was to set up in the way I wanted to against Yeovil. I wanted to change things an Ashley was the player I knew could do something. His goal on Saturday was sensational. I said to my players that if everyone, whether on the bench or starting, is ready, then that is the best way to achieve.
