REDS FANS APPLAUSE FOR GILL

24 September 2018

The 147 Reds fans who travelled to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday fondly remembered one of their own as they celebrated the life of ardent supporter Gill Courtnell who passed away in July.

Organised by friend Sue Benn, many of Gill's family, friends and fellow supporters applauded in the 59th minute - her age when she passed away - in honour of a dearly missed member of our fan base. Benn organised for this game to become a 'memorial away day' and it brought together many of her 'football family' as she called it, who had not travelled away for a while.

Gill passed in July after a long battle with cancer but was a huge fan of Crawley Town and had been a long standing member of the CTSA, providing hospitality on many of the coaches to away games and is a huge loss to the Reds community.

A huge thank you to Forest Green Rovers for publicising the cause, and to their fans for joining in with the applause.
