PREVIEW: PORT VALE

A look ahead to Saturday's action at The People's Pension Stadium

13 December 2019

John Yems takes charge of his first home match on Saturday when Reds entertin Port Vale in an important Sky Bet League 2 fixture.

SCENE SETTER

Reds go into the game in poor form, with ten defeats in the last 15, although they did move up to 16th in the table after keeping their first clean sheet since mid-September in last Saturday's stalemate against Stevenage.

Port Vale sit ninth in the form table with three wins in their last six, but they have lost their last two games - 2-1 at Scunthorpe and 1-0 at home to Walsall last Saturday. They are 10th in the table, six points above Crawley.

TEAM NEWS

Reds have no fresh injury worries and Tom Dallison is available for selection following a one-match suspension. Midfielder Luke Joyce returns after a one-match ban for the visitors.

VIEW FROM THE CAMP

John Yems: "I'm looking forward to it. It will be a very proud moment when I take my place in the home dugout but the most important thing is that we put in a performance and get three points. It will be a tough game - they have good threats and a very experienced manager - but it's down to us to be on the front foot, getting the crowd behind us and working as hard as we can to get three points.
