PREVIEW - NORTHAMPTON TOWN

Everything you need to know ahead of our Boxing day clash.

24 December 2019

We look ahead to welcoming Northampton Town to The People’s Pension Stadium.

John Yems will be looking to gift Reds fans a belated Christmas present as his side entertain high flying Northampton on Boxing Day. Town will be looking to close the gap between themselves and the top half of the table with 12 points separating the Reds and the visitors.

SCENE SETTER:

After narrowly losing out against Oldham at the weekend John Yems side find themselves 18th in the table. A first half lead courtesy of a rare Lewis Young goal was not enough to see the Reds through with second half goals from David Wheater and Mohamed Maouche meant Crawley fell to defeat in Greater Manchester.

Our Boxing Day visitors currently occupy the last play off position sitting a point above Colchester who occupy 8th place. Keith Curle’s side travelled to Mansfield at the weekend and they escaped from the One Call stadium with a point after Harry Smith was on hand to equalise in the 84th minute - assisted by former Reds midfielder and fan favourite Nicky Adams.

TEAM NEWS:

Reece Grego-Cox remains sidelined having missed out last Saturday vs Oldham.
