REDS SIGN DEFENDER TOM DALLISON

8 January 2019

We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Tom Dallison on an 18-month contract.

This will be Tom's second spell with the Reds. He previously joined us in February 2016, but his loan from Brighton and Hove Albion was cut short on his debut when he broke a toe in a 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle.

The 22-year-old left-sided central defender joins having left Scottish Championship side Falkirk by mutual consent on Monday.

Since playing for the Reds, Dallison featured on loan for Cambridge United and Accrington Stanley, before his move to Scotland. He featured 17 times for Falkirk this season and knows the People's Pension Stadium well, having played here several times for Brighton under-23s. He was released by the Seagulls at the end of last season.

Director of Football, Selim Gaygusuz said, "Tom was really unfortunate to have had his loan spell with us cut short three years ago but now he's back for a second shot.

"He's played at a very good level in Scotland and played in this league since he left us. He's a quality defender and he's still only young so he has plenty of potential. We are delighted to have him here.

"This is an area of the squad Gaby and I identified as one which needed strengthening. He knows a few of the lads from his brief spell here before and I am sure he will hit the ground running."

Tom has been allocated squad number 17.
