GABY AND SQUAD SETTLING IN AT HORSHAM

1 July 2019

Gabriele Cioffi and the squad are getting used to new surroundings after they had their first proper training session at the Hop Oast training ground.

The club announced last week an agreement to use Horsham FC's new 3G pitch and stadium as their training base and the superb facilities have got the thumbs-up from the Head Coach and the players.

Gaby said: "When I arrived at the weekend it is the first time I have been to Horsham for a few weeks and it's a transformation really, a very nice facility for us - quiet, good pitch, good dressing rooms and places for the lads to have some food and relax so all top."

The squad spent last week at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford on a week-long intensive training camp with double training sessions and gym work.

Gaby added: "We had a good week at Guildford, very positive for the lads and everyone. They worked hard but also had some time together off the pitch.

"So all in all a good few days of pre-season so far. We are working hard again this week and we will have a couple of squad games as well. We are building our work up to the Swansea friendly on Saturday week."

This is Gaby's first full pre-season at the club, having taken over last September from Harry Kewell.

"We have done a lot of work with our staff to get things right for the players," he added. "I would like to thank Brice (Pennicott), Joel (Harrington) and Marcus (Doyle) for their considerable efforts behind the scenes.

"But I have put my own personality on the training and hopefully it will stand us in good stead. We have a big season ahead of us but so far so good."
