REFEREE FOR FA CUP TIE NAMED

7 November 2019

Lee Swabey will be in charge at The People's Pension Stadium on Saturday when Reds kick off their Emirates FA Cup campaign with a first-round tie against Scunthorpe United. It will be the eighth time he has refereed a Crawley match.

The Devon official took charge of three games involving the Reds during his debut term in the Football League in 2015-16 - the 0-0 draw at home to Wycombe Wanderers, the 1-0 win at home to Cambridge United and the 2-1 reverse away to Northampton Town.

The following season he was in charge of a 2-1 home loss to Stevenage and in April 2018 another home defeat, this time 2-1 against Coventry City.

Last season he refereed a 2-1 loss at Bristol Rovers in the Carabao Cup and a 1-0 win over Swindon in January in the League.

In 14 games this season he has given out 40 yellow and three red cards. He will be assisted by Aaron Farmer and Stephen Brown with Ryan Atkin the fourth official.
