An update on progress with the new scoreboard.
After consultation with Crawley Borough Council and the safety authorities, our plan is to site the new scoreboard at the north end of the stadium.
We considered other options, including siting it on one of the floodlight towers, but after a lot of discussion with the council and safety authorities this was not considered feasible.
The next step is to engage a structural engineer to conduct a site survey. Once that is done, council building control will hopefully give us the green light to get any groundworks done and erect the scoreboard we have identified. The new scoreboard is state of the art and able to do so much more than those we have had in the past.
I can’t put a timescale on this unfortunately, but we are making progress and I will keep everyone updated. In the meantime I would like to thank Paul Hayward, who has pledged his support for the project.
The current scoreboard is beyond repair but all being well we will have a new one at the stadium soon.
