GABY: WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO A BIG WEEK

17 October 2019

Head Coach Gabriele Cioffi says the squad are looking forward to an exciting week with three games COMING UP against sides currently in the League Two play-off places.

On Saturday Reds head to Bradford City to play the third-placed Bantams before Tuesday’s trip to last season’s play-off finalists Newport County, who are currently fifth in the table.

Then the month ends at home to Swindon Town, the side currently in seventh place.

But after last Saturday’s come-from-behind 2-1 win over Colchester United, Gaby says the players are in ‘a good place’ ahead of a trio of tough assignments.

“Last Saturday, and the way we achieved the result, was very important for the boys,” said the Italian.

“In the second half that was us at our best – being brave, playing on the front foot. So we are in a good place.

“Now the challenge is doing this away from home against two strong teams in Bradford and Newport.”

Bradford have won five of their last seven League games since relegation with their only home defeat coming against Forest Green Rovers, who won 1-0 there. A crowd of around 17,000 is expected for the game.

“It is a fantastic stadium and we should enjoy playing there,” added Gaby. “There is expectation among Bradford supporters to win promotion and this is only right. They are a big club with a very experienced manager in Gary Bowyer.

“I’m hoping we can start another good run of results now. We’ve had another good week on the training ground and it has definitely helped us refresh after a lot of midweek matches. Now we enter another tough period with positivity.”
