BIG TEST AHEAD SAYS GABY

17 September 2019

Head Coach Gabriele Cioffi anticipates one of the toughest games of the season when Plymouth Argyle visit The People's Pension Stadium tonight (7.45pm).

Relegated Argyle have been somewhat inconsistent since opening the season with a 3-0 win at Crewe, but the Italian is well aware of the quality in their squad.

He said: "Plymouth have a new coach and a lot of different players. It can take time for a new squad to gel but they have the quality in their squad for sure.

"I expect them to challenge at least for the play-offs if not promotion. They have a manager (Ryan Lowe) who got promotion last season and that experience will help Plymouth for sure. So we have to be prepared for a very difficult game."

Reds are unbeaten in the last four and three points tonight could see us move into the play-off places for the first time since we dropped into League Two four years ago.

Not that GC is too concerned about statistics at this stage of the season.

"After tonight we have played nine games, not even a fifth of the season. It is nothing," he added.

"As we do all the time we prepare for one match, mull over it then move onto the next one. We're not thinking about what could happen. We deal in the moment, the reality."
