Crawley Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of full-back Archie Davies, on a two-year deal with an option of a third, after he was released by Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer.
Davies is an energetic full-back who likes to join the attack when needed and provide pinpoint crosses for the forwards. He played 90 minutes in Albion’s EFL Cup third round clash at The AMEX Stadium last season, where he impressed in a 3-1 defeat to a full-strength Aston Villa side.
He has also been a regular for Brighton’s U23 side over the past three seasons, making 35 Premier League 2 appearances.
A four-month loan spell at Whitehawk FC in 2017 also handed Davies more experience in the men’s game, but Davies claims the transition should be smooth saying in a club interview: “I’ve had good experience in the men’s game in different competitions with Brighton so I am ready to test myself in the football league.”
Technical Director Erdem Konyar said: “Archie is a very exciting player. His abundance of pace and athleticism provide him with the elements of an attacking full back. We are excited to have captured Archie.”
Head Coach John Yems said: “I saw Archie last year, he could be a top player for us, with experience of being at Brighton over the last eight years, he’ll be a good contender to challenge for spaces.”
Davies will join up with the rest of the squad when training gets underway next week.
