COMMERCIAL UPDATE | CORONAVIRUS

Head of Commercial Joe Comper provides an update on the club's commercial activities

16 March 2020

Given the recent outbreak of Covid-19, the EFL have instructed clubs to cease various part of their operation, including commercial activities and player appearances. As such, we wanted to update our fans and partners regarding a number of things due to happen between now and the end of the season that have subsequently been effected.

END OF SEASON AWARDS

Our annual end of season awards were due to take place on the 18th April, but will now be cancelled. This is bitterly disappointing for everyone at the club, given the success last season’s awards night, and the fact that plans were all in place, including sponsors for the evening. At this moment in time, it seems very unlikely that organising a rearranged date will be possible before the end of the current season, so the awards will be voted for and presented via the club’s digital platforms. Details of how supporters can get involved and vote for the awards will be available once we know the plans for the remainder of the season.

SPONSOR'S LUNCH

As part of our kit sponsorship packages, sponsors were entitled to a sponsors lunch with the players at the training ground. The EFL have been very specific in their instructions to clubs that player appearances must be suspended for the time being. With this in mind, we have put on hold plans for the sponsor’s lunch, but this will happen once things are up and running fully once again. Given the possibility of a heavy schedule if/when the suspension of the league is lifted, this may take place during pre-season of the 2020-21 season, as opposed to the end of the current season. More details will be circulated to sponsors when we are clearer on how things will play out.

SPORTING LINKS BUSINESS CLUB

This month’s Sporting Links meeting for local businesses on the 23rd March has been cancelled. Lingfield Park Resort and ourselves are monitoring the situation closely and will make a call on our April and May meetings in due course. Any members of Sporting Links should contact me (joecomper@crawleytownfc.com) or Debbie (dhay@lingfieldpark.co.uk) If they have any questions regarding their membership.

Finally, I’d like to thank our loyal sponsors for their ongoing support of everything Crawley Town and should they, or any other local business, believe we can support them in any way during these uncertain times, please do get in touch.

If anyone has any queries about any of the above or any other commercial matters relating to Crawley Town, please feel free to contact me via email atjoecomper@crawleytownfc.com.

COYR!

Joe Comper
