Premiership and Championship sides enter the fray at this stage meaning the Reds could be drawn away to Premier League leaders Tottenham Hotspur or perhaps even reigning FA Cup champions, Arsenal.
Four Non-League sides make the third round draw, including eighth tier Marine, after they sunk fellow Non-League side Havant & Waterlooville in the 120th minute in extra-time.
This season's third-round proper will take place across the weekend of Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January 2021, with the 32 winning clubs at this stage collecting £82,000 from the competition's prize fund.
