TACKLING LONELINESS TOGETHER

Community Foundation launch new EFL Trust project

23 October 2020

Crawley Town Community Foundation have recently launched a new EFL Trust project during lockdown, called ‘Tackling Loneliness Together’.

This programme was created to ensure the older members of the community are not isolated through the many COVID-19 changes.

Through this new grant the Foundation are able to support the community through a variety of interactions & inclusive activities. These activities include – Garden Gate Visits, Befriending Phone Call, Online Coffee Mornings (Extra Time Hubs), Walk & Talk sessions and Newsletters.

We have already commenced the delivery of the garden gate sessions and befriending phone calls to those participants who have expressed interest.

We have recently commenced delivery of the garden gate visits to a new participant Peter (90 years old). Due to an ongoing health condition, he has been advised by the doctors to practice his speaking as much as possible and this has given him that extra opportunity meeting with Harri.

He is an avid painter and has used art as a creative outlet throughout the pandemic. Peter has been painting for about 70 years, and he likes to compare his painting to real photographs of sceneries.

It is our hope that we are able to connect with more participants like Peter around Crawley and bring some joy to their daily lives.

If you are interested or know someone who would benefit from these sessions please access our website today - https://www.ctcommunityfoundation.com/tackling-loneliness-together
