Jordan Tunnicliffe has been named in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Season at the annual EFL end of season awards. A panel of experts selected Jordan as one of the two best centre-backs this season, where he is accompanied by Will Boyle from Cheltenham Town.
Jordan has had a fine season for the Reds, recording 42 appearances to date scoring on five occasions. Tunnicliffe has been pivotal in helping the Reds keep 15 league clean sheets this season as well as keeping a clean sheet against Premier League side Leeds United in the famous 3-0 victory at The People’s Pension Stadium.
The centre-half was able to find the target against Leeds United scoring the third goal after Nicholas Tsaroulla and Ashley Nadesan opened the scoring for the Reds. Jordan also found the target against Torquay United in the dramatic 6-5 victory in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup. Tunnicliffe also got his name on the scoresheet on the three occasions in the league, having scored against Tranmere Rovers, Colchester United and Bradford City.
On receiving his award Jordan said: “Personally I am really proud to receive this award, I know it’s cliche, but I actually could not have done it without the lads this year.”
