Crawley last played Horsham in July of 2019 when we lost out 3-1 in an impressive Horsham performance. Reece Grego-Cox was the scorer of the Crawley goal.

Southampton U23 (H)

Tuesday, July 20. 19:00 kick-off.

Location: The People’s Pension Stadium

Crawley will play their first game at The People’s Pension Stadium of the 2021/22 season against Southampton after the fixture was recently confirmed to complete our busy pre-season schedule.

Southampton U23 finished bottom of the Premier League 2 last season after a tightly contested season in which Manchester City ended up as champions.

The Saints lost out 4-0 to Everton U23 on the final day of the season in May and will look to bounce back with a healthy pre-season under their belt as they look to play their football in ‘Group 2’ next season, where they will face the likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Crawley fans may remember our EFL Trophy defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s in 2016, when we lost 4-0 to a side that went on to win the group.

East Grinstead Town (A)

Harry Kewell took charge of his first Crawley game in our last meeting with East Grinstead Town which came in July of 2017. The Reds were 1-6 victors thanks to goals from Matt Harrold, Enzio Boldewijn, Dean Cox, Panutche Camara and Jimmy Smith.

West Ham U23 (H)

After hosting Southampton’s youngster’s the week before, West Ham will travel down to West Sussex on a Monday night.

The Hammers’ U23 side narrowly missed out on relegation from the Premier League 2 last season, but finished with eight more points than Southampton. 18-year-old Irishman Ademipo Odubeko is one to look out for and has scored 11 goals in 10 PL2 appearances.

Tottenham Hotspur U23 (H)

Saturday, July 31. 15:00 kick-off

Location: The People’s Pension Stadium

Our third and final home friendly of the schedule will be against Tottenham Hotspur U23, who are arguably the toughest test of the bunch, as they finished third in the Premier League 2 last season behind Manchester City and Chelsea.

Tottenham’s most notable names are Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett who had both been in and around the first team squad under Jose Mourinho towards the end of last season. Scarlett has scored an impressive 18 goals from 20 U18 appearances.

Crawley fans should remember our last meeting with Tottenham which came in the EFL Trophy in 2018 when we defeated the young side in a dramatic penalty shootout in which David Sesay scored the decisive spot-kick.

Ticket information to come soon after yesterday’s government announcement.

Beckenham Town (A)
