CLUB STATEMENT | STAFF SHORTAGES VS STEVENAGE

Matchday staff significantly depleted for Saturday's fixture.

4 February 2022

Crawley Town Football Club would like to issue the following statement to fans prior to Saturday’s home game against Stevenage.

As has been previously documented, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, staff shortages have caused problems at clubs up and down the country and across all levels of the game - something that we are not immune to.

Once again, in the interest of transparency and honesty, Saturday’s fixture against Stevenage is looking set to cause difficulties in terms of matchday staffing numbers. Along with a general lack of casual staff across the hospitality and events sector, we have a number of matchday staff isolating having contracted COVID-19 in the past week. This means that queues at key club touch points are likely, with supporters being advised to allow time to collect tickets and at the concession stands.

As ever we remain committed to offering ALL elements of a ‘normal’ match day for this fixture - catering, executive hospitality, match day ticket sales, retail etc, however hope that by being proactive to this shortage, that fans will understand the challenges the club face and will respond accordingly.

Tickets for the fixture are still available with uptake being high, similar to our last home game against Tranmere Rovers where we saw just over 2,500 Reds fans in attendance.

We ask that fans utilise the online ticket portal as much as possible, but equally understand that this is not easily accessible for all supporters. Phone lines for booking tickets are open but busy, with staff doing their best to answer as many calls as possible.

Tickets will also be available on the day of the game, but the club asks that fans arrive in plenty of time as queues are highly likely.

Online tickets can be purchased by clicking here, with the dashboard for booking tickets remaining as 01293 410 000.

Supporters are reminded that in order to beat the queues, select the print at home option when purchasing online, or equally, scan your ticket on your mobile phone when at the turnstile. Online tickets go off sale at 23:00 on the day prior to the game to allow for printing of purchased tickets.

In addition to this, the club are in the process of speaking with a well known local eatery about providing extra food outlets on a matchday, which going forwards will provide a wider variety of catering options and ease congestion on our current tea bars - we hope to confirm more details on this arrangement in the coming days and weeks.

As per usual, the club appreciate any feedback from fans on elements of the match day operation, as we continue to strive to move the club forwards, both on and off the field.

Fans can send feedback to the following email address, feedback@crawleytownfc.com.

Thank you for the continued support.

Come on you Reds!
