REDS TO LAUNCH NEW FAN ZONE

Fan Zone to launch on Saturday's match against Carlisle United.

24 February 2023

Crawley Town Football Club is delighted to announce that a new Fan Zone will launch on Saturday ahead of the Red Devils' Sky Bet League Two clash against Carlisle United.

The new Fan Zone boasts a 10m long marquee, which will play host to our new food and drinks unit. Alcoholic drinks, tea & coffee, soft and cold drinks, pastries, pies and bar snacks will all be sold in the new unit, as well as a few items of Crawley Town merchandise.

Attached to the unit, is a 75" outdoor TV screen, which will show the UK's early kick-off before the match, and will then flick over to Sky Sports Soccer Saturday at half-time. Music will play from our state-of-the-art speakers from opening until kick-off at the Broadfield Stadium, with the option of match commentary for the early kick-off available.

The Fan Zone will also host a mobile catering unit offering a range of hot and cold snacks.

Our Crawley Town-inspired standing barrels will give you somewhere to rest your pie and pint as you watch the early kick-off, with benches also provided for seating options. Our gas heaters will provide warmth in the colder months, and Tuesday night fixtures. Toilet facilities are also available in the Fan Zone.

There are currently plans to open a further unit, which is currently located at the right of the Fan Zone, at the start of next season as a new matchday club shop and ticket office to further enhance the area.

General Manager Tom Allman said, "I'm delighted that we're finally able to officially unveil the new fan zone at the club. Whilst having the obvious benefits in terms of fan engagement and experience, the area will also help the club operationally. Traditionally we have only had six areas to serve food and drinks from on a matchday, with those in the north and south east areas of the ground being restricted because of a lack of extraction when the stadium was first built. We have also only previously had Redz Bar for general admission alcohol sales. This new area changes that completely. Our catering capacity has increased by a third with the two new catering outlets in the fan zone, as well being able to also sell alcoholic drinks, which should relieve Redz of some pressure, as well as offering fans a choice of venue on the day.

I have to pay tribute to all of the members of staff who have worked so hard to get this zone operational - Nathan White, Harry Maynard, Sam Gadsdon & Jayme Ablitt in particular have gone above and beyond to make sure the area is as it is. A special thank you to our partners at Identity, in particular Matthew & Colin Robotham, Innovation Fire & Security, FASTSigns and Kogo for their support in the project.

The area is a first for the club and as such feedback is always greatly appreciated. We have plans to make the area even better and if there is something you think we should change or look to add in the future, please do let us know and we will look to implement as and when we can - this can be done by emailing feedback@crawleytownfc.com.”

To celebrate the launch of the new Fan Zone, the first 50 fans to purchase an alcoholic or soft drink from the zone at tomorrow's fixture against Carlisle United will receive a complimentary Piglets Pantry pastry.

The Fan Zone is located at the South end of the ground next to the turnstiles for the South Terrace and East Stand and will be open on from 12:30 this Saturday, as well as half-time and full-time, closing at 17:30.
